Recently I have embarked in a discussion involving the 48 Laws of Power, by Robert Greene, and the discussion, through its whirls and loops, reached a point where the idea arose to rewrite the powers through my own unique perspective and understanding of each law.
I intend to rewrite at least 3 of the laws a week and maybe combine the results into a pdf.
Would be cool if everyone reading this would post their own interpretation or revision of each law.
(Robert Greene’s) Law #1
Never outshine the master
Always make those above you feel comfortably superior. In your desire to please or impress them, do not go too far in displaying your talents or you might accomplish the opposite – inspire fear and insecurity. Make your masters appear more brilliant than they are and you will attain the heights of power.
Law #1 (in my own words, revised)
Work towards your daily work slowly and carefully, spending each hour of your life with attention and care.
Always aware of your body and your surroundings. Anytime you begin to act arrogantly or destructively you slow down, become aware of your breath, and reconnect with the harmony of the whole.
Law #1 is complete, feel free to share any thoughts or ideas, and/or be critical with my writing. Thanks for your time and you have a nice day.
