Robert Greene’s law #3:
Conceal your intentions
Keep people off-balance and in the dark by never revealing the purpose behind your actions. If they have no clue what you are up to, they cannot prepare a defense. Guide the far enough down the wrong path, envelope them in enough smoke, and by the time they realize your intentions, it will be too late.
In my own words: Law # 3
Learn to maximize your expression with minimal movement and effort:
There is a folk tale which is summarized by: each person has a limited number of words they can use in a life. So use them wisely.
Take a deep breath or two before speaking, and pay close attention to the words that come out of your mouth… ask yourself is what I’m saying kind? helpful? necessary?
If what you say is not all three, there is no need to open your mouth.
